My name is Jess and I am the Youth Program Director with the YMCA of Calhoun County. I am the Camp Director at Y Camp Hamilton and will be overseeing all 3 of our camps this summer. Most of my time will be spent at Y Camp Hamilton with our day campers. This will be my 2^nd summer running camp! I have been working with the YMCA of Calhoun County for almost 2 years after relocating from a YMCA in Ohio. In august I will have 5 years with the YMCA! I am looking forward to a fun and safe summer!

Te’a is our camp dog for the summer and will be at Y Camp Hamilton. She is really excited to get to play at camp all day! She loves to hike and play fetch. She is a 1 year old German Shepherd and recently received her first AKC title! As much as Te’a would love to run free at camp, she will be in her own separate area on a run. She will get to visit with the kids with Jess during the day. She can’t wait to meet all the new campers this year

Eranika will be our Head Counselor at Day Camp this summer! “My name is Eranika and I am a senior at Jacksonville State University. I am a social work major and a theater minor. This is my 2nd year working at camp and I am so excited! I have been working for the YMCA in one capacity or another since I was 19 years old.”

Brittany will be working with the Kinder-Campers this summer! “This will be my 4th year working for the YMCA summer camp. I just recently graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I enjoy reading and watching American Idol! I am so excited for this summer!

Shatara will be working at day camp this summer at Y Camp Hamilton. “ To start off I previously worked at the day camp summer of 2008. I enjoyed last summer. I am currently a sophomore at JSU with a major in social work. My favorite thing about working at camp is watching the kids interact with each other and have a great time. The day camp is a great program that I have a great time being a part of!!

Tyler will be working at day camp this summer at Y Camp Hamilton. “ My name is Tyler and this will be my 2nd summer at camp. I love everything about it! My favorite part is being able to talk randomly about the Bible and Christianity without being judged for it. But, yea spending time with the kids and the overnights are the best part of the summer!

Bo will be opening and closing at Kittystone Elementary School this summer. “My name is Bo and I will be a freshman at Stamford in the fall. This will be my 3rd summer working for the YMCA. I’m looking forward to building relationships with the kids and having a positive impact on their lives.”

Bre will be opening and closing at Kittystone Elementary School this summer. “My name is Breandrea, I attend Jacksonville State University. This will be my 2nd year with the YMCA. I love being able to explore my youth by getting to play games and getting to know the kids. I am the youngest of 13 children so I am very outgoing. I am looking forward to this summer!”

Veronica will be working with the Kinder-Campers this summer! “My name is Veronica. I am 25 years old and I’m a social work major at JSU. I started working at YMCA camp in Birmingham, AL during summer 2008. My favorite activity is arts and crafts. I like working at camp because I love being around the kids and being a positive influence on them.”

Jacqueline will be working with our Kinder-Campers this year at the YMCA! “I enjoy working at kinder camp because I love children! I enjoy arts and crafts and just interacting with them period. I have a young daughter so I know the joys that working with children can bring. I have worked at camp one year prior to this year and I fully enjoyed it!”

Jennifer will be working as our CLT Leader this summer! “I worked at summer camp for 2 years while I was in High School. I decided to work it again this year since it was something I enjoyed so much as a teenager. My favorite activity is spending time with my two beautiful daughters. I also work as the site director of the YMCA afterschool program at Kittystone Elementary School.

Blake will be working at day camp this summer at Y Camp Hamilton. “Hi my name is Blake and I am from Atlanta, GA. I love sports and am a junior at Jacksonville State University. This is my 2nd summer working at a day camp but my 1st summer at Y Camp Hamilton. I am really excited and ready to have fun all summer!”

Stephan will be working at day camp at Y Camp Hamilton this summer. “My name is Stephan and I am a junior at Jacksonville State University. I am 21 years old and I love sports and working with children. I am a criminal justice major with a minor of military science and sociology. I also serve in the National Guard. I am so excited for this summer!” ”

Tiesha will be working at day camp this summer at Y Camp Hamilton. “My name is Tiesha and I am a senior at JSU. My major is psychology with a minor in child development. I am 22 years old. I have worked at Y Camp Hamilton for 1 summer and I really enjoyed it! My favorite part of camp is the kids, the kids love it and I’m glad that I can play a part in making them happy!”

Hannah will be working at day camp this summer at Y Camp Hamilton. “My name is Hannah! This is my first summer working at YMCA camp. I am a sophomore at JSU, majoring in early childhood education. I cannot wait to see everyone’s smiling faces this summer!”

Courtnee will be working at day camp this summer at Y Camp Hamilton. “Hi my name is Courtnee, this will be my first summer working at day camp. I am a freshman at JSU, majoring in nursing. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of the children at camp this summer!”
